33 Free Personality Tests and Quizzes
33 free, research-based personality tests and quizzes. Each is reviewed by a clinician, scored in your browser, and gives you an instant plain-language result. No sign-up, and your answers never leave your device.

Personality tests offer different ways to describe how you think, connect with people, and respond to everyday life. The Big Five looks at broad traits on a spectrum, while the 16 Personalities Test combines four preferences into a type. The Enneagram and four temperaments offer other reflective frameworks. This collection helps you choose a model that matches your question, rather than treating every personality score as the same kind of answer.
You might be curious about your social energy, sensitivity, sense of control, or reactions under pressure. Start with a broad profile, then choose a narrower questionnaire if one part feels useful to explore. These educational self-assessments describe patterns in your answers, not fixed identities or diagnoses. A result can give you language for reflection, but it cannot explain your whole personality or decide what you are capable of becoming.

How to choose
| If you want to | Take | Why |
|---|---|---|
| You want a broad picture of everyday traits | Big Five Personality Test | Explore five dimensions rather than one overall personality score. |
| You want to explore a four-letter type | 16 Personalities Test | This Jungian and Big Five informed tool is not the official MBTI. |
| You want to reflect on nine personality patterns | Enneagram Test | Treat the Enneagram as a reflective framework rather than a clinical assessment. |
| You want to understand your social energy | Introvert or Extrovert Quiz | The result includes room between introversion and extraversion. |
| You already know your four letters and want to settle a close call | INFP or INFJ? Which Type Are You | Four pair tests separate INFP from INFJ, INTJ from INFJ, INTJ from INTP and ENFP from INFP; the socionics test maps the same Jungian base onto a different code. |
Personality tests FAQ
Which personality test should I take first?
Choose the Big Five if you want a broad trait profile without a type label. Choose 16 Personalities if a four-letter framework interests you, or the Enneagram if you want to explore its nine patterns. You do not need to complete several models for your first result to be useful.
Are these tests equally supported by research?
No. The Big Five has a different research foundation from typologies such as the Enneagram and the classical temperaments. Individual questionnaires can also be original adaptations rather than standardized instruments. Read the methodology on the test you choose, and separate evidence for a general model from evidence for this particular questionnaire.
Can my personality result change?
Your answers can vary with circumstances, recent experiences, and how you understand a question. Scores near a category boundary may produce a different type on another day. Use the descriptions as prompts to compare with real situations, rather than treating a change in label as evidence that something has gone wrong.
Can a personality profile identify a personality disorder?
A profile of everyday traits cannot establish a personality disorder. This collection focuses on styles, preferences, sensitivity, and related patterns. The separate personality disorder and trait collection contains educational screeners for other concerns, but those results also need context and cannot replace an assessment by a qualified professional.
