About John
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
I understand how challenging it can be if you’re healing from violence or abuse, navigating grief, seeking trauma-informed support, guiding your child’s emotional growth, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life’s burdens. I’m here with empathy and expertise to gently help you rediscover peace, purpose, and hope.
Work history
I started my career at UTMB-Correctional Managed Care in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, where I gained deep insight into supporting those facing severe psychosis spectrum disorders, mood disorders, and cluster B personality disorders (histrionic, narcissistic, antisocial, and borderline). In 2017, I transitioned to private practice to emphasize compassionate, preventive care. I’m trained in Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Children (DBT-C), and Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT).
